What is Casa de la Amistad para Niños con Cáncer, I.A.P.?

The Casa de la Amistad (or House of Friendship for Children with Cancer, Private Assistance Institution) was founded in 1990 thanks to a committed group of people, sensitive to the circumstances and pain of children and young people who, while living in poverty, also had to deal with cancer, a grave and very expensive disease.

After 20 years of untiring work, Casa de la Amistad has been able to give 5,692 children and young people a chance for life. Today, its Medications Program includes a Central Medication Bank in Mexico City and 19 decentralized banks in 17 states around the country. Its Emotional Support Program for Children and Young People with Cancer has been widely recognized nationally and internationally, and its Educational Support Program for child and teen cancer patients ensures government-recognized, officially valid primary, secondary, and high school education.

No efforts are ever spared to continue to give Casa de la Amistad beneficiaries comprehensive support through its distinctive programs. Nothing stops it.

The Casa de la Amistad mission and vision have been the guidelines for the model of social intervention the institution carries out and is renowned for.

This self-sustaining model, capable of being replicated, is made up of seven distinctive programs: Shelter, Food, Medication, Decentralization, Education, Emotional, and Creative Workshops.

Currently, in its efforts to develop a more effective, appropriate model for social intervention to fulfill its mission and vision, Casa de la Amistad has begun major efforts in research and early diagnosis.

Casa de la Amistad’s distinctive programs and all the efforts it makes as an institution to benefit the children and young people it has supported since its foundation have the single goal of its mission and vision: for its beneficiaries to survive.

For Casa de la Amistad and all the people that have collaborated with it in some way, there is no more noble aspiration or greater satisfaction than saving the life of a child or young person with cancer.
